Gowran Park racecourse

Since the first meeting was held in June 1914, the course has become recognised as one of the best trial courses for both steeplechasing and flat racing.

The Thyestes Chase in January and the Red Mills Trial Hurdle a month later keep the course in the public eye and there other good races scattered througthout the year. The course is a right-handed undulating track of one mile and four furlongs in length. It is 13km east of Kilkenny and 130km south of Dublin.

Flat:	A right-handed oval undulating, the circuit is 1m 3f with a 3f run-in and an uphill finish. Draw advantage - no advantage.
Jumps:	A right-handed oval undulating track, the circuit of 1m 4f is suited to the galloping type and has an uphill finish. 6 hurdles and 7 fences per circuit.
