Joe Tizzard is relishing the prospect of an early showdown between Cue Card and ante-post Arkle favourite Sprinter Sacre at Newbury on Saturday week.
The pair are set to clash in the Game Spirit Chase, with Tizzard partnering Cue Card, who is trained by his father Colin.
The 2010 Champion Bumper hero has been tried over longer trips this term but the Tizzard team have now decided to keep him to two miles for the time being.
"I'm most looking forward to Cue Card in the Arkle. We're heading to Newbury on February 11 for a spin in the Game Spirit and are likely to encounter Sprinter Sacre," he said in his Wincanton racecourse blog.
"It will be our final outing before the Festival. If we win, we'll be favourite for the Arkle and I'm delighted to report that Cue Card's in cracking form at home."
