Premio Loco will return to Goodwood for a crack at the Celebration Mile after his brave effort in defeat in the Sussex Stakes.
Chris Wall's stable star was supplemented for the Group One race on Wednesday and performed with great credit to finish behind the top-class duo of Canford Cliffs and Rip Van Winkle. His performance was even more meritorious as it later emerged that he struck into himself during the race.
"He did get struck into and he was a bit stiff and sore, but it looked OK. We'll have to monitor it closely but he's likely to have a bit of a break and go back to Goodwood for the Celebration Mile (August 28)," said Wall.
"That gives us about a month to freshen him up and that should be fine. As long as the cut does not get infected he'll be fine, so we'll just keep an eye on that."
