Super Kala set to step up

Kalahaag

Richard Hannon is already considering stepping Goodwood maiden winner Kalahaag up to Pattern company.

The Iffraaj filly, owned by former Abba singer Benny Andersson, was only ninth on her Newbury debut but appeared to have learned plenty from that experience when coming with a late run to beat 10 rivals over seven furlongs.

Her trainer told www.richardhannonracing.tv: "We could look at one of the big sales pots or maybe a Listed or Group Three, something like the Radley Stakes at Newbury (October 23). She is a nice Iffraaj filly who cost us 50,000 guineas, and she looks as if she might be better than a nursery type."
