Robin Bastiman is praying for good news when he gets an update on his stable star Borderlescott.
The eight-year-old sprinter was taken to Arundel Veterinary Centre when found to be lame behind after putting up a superb performance to win the Audi King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. The injury is believed to be to his near-hind leg in the stifle area.
"I'm going to speak to the vet and see the horse later this morning. They examined him last night and scanned him and they didn't find any fractures, but hopefully I will know more later. At least he's in the best place," said the Wetherby trainer.
"I think it was the best the horse had ever run and it looked like he was just coming right, as he always does at this time of year. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed."
