Cheers as Hooray strikes again

Hooray

Hooray made it back-to-back Group-race successes with an imperious front-running performance in the totepool Sirenia Stakes at Kempton.

Sir Mark Prescott's filly had to carry a penalty for winning the Lowther at York, despite competing against colts on this occasion, and she was uneasy in the betting, weakening to 5-2 second favourite.

Signs In The Sand and Reckless Reward tried their best to upset Hooray, but she had a second wind and cleared three and three-quarter lengths away in a juvenile course record.

The Paddyman and Fifth Commandment played up in the stalls and both had to be withdrawn from the Group Three contest, leaving only five starters.

"It was an unusual race to run in, but she seemed so well and ran her best race before when she had run only six days earlier," said Prescott.

"It's unconventional, but she could have another run before the Cheveley Park, and the only suitable race would be the Prix d'Arenberg (at Chantilly)."
