Wootton Bassett is reported to be in fine shape as the unbeaten youngster bids to land another big pot in the Weatherbys Insurance £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday.
The Iffraaj colt collected £147,720 for his connections when justifying his short price in the DBS Premier Yearling Stakes at York last month and the three-time winner will try to better that as he attempts to scoop another £193,267.
"He's in great form. The last race did him the world of good. It was a proper race," said North Yorkshire-based trainer Richard Fahey.
The handler is looking to pick up as much of the prize money on offer as possible as he has four other runners - El Viento, Sir Reginald, Chiswick Bey and Premier Clarets.
The Brian Meehan-trained Murbeh is the only other unbeaten member of the maximum 22-strong field.
Other leading contenders include Mick Channon's Galtymore Lad, who was runner-up to Wootton Bassett at York, Forjatt from Michael Jarvis's stable and Tim Easterby's Imperialistic Diva.
